I prefer polish version of yeast cake... but this one is quite original. More flowery... Thanks to fruits?
"Welsh yeast cake"
-250g flour
-1 tsp cinnamon
- 75 g raisins
- 100g butter
- 100g sugar
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 egg
-1 cup warm milk
- 1 tbsp dried yeast
- 1/2 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
Beat together the butter, sugar, syrup and egg. Add flour, cinnamon, milk, yeast, soda. Mix well. Add raisins in the end.
Place in a greased loaf tin and leave in a warm place until doubled.
Put to the warm oven and bake about 45min-1 hour.
